Paths to Enlightenment

This is the seventh in a series of kinetics instigated by an invitation to exhibit in a show promoted by the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Paths to Enlightenment was inspired by the orrereys (mechanical models of the solar system) exhibited in an upstairs gallery.

Standing 650mm (26") high, the sculpture is driven by a mains electric motor through a reduction gearbox to produce a calm, planetary motion.
