Paths to Enlightenment

This is the seventh in a series of kinetics instigated by an invitation to exhibit in a show promoted by the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Paths to Enlightenment was inspired by the orrereys ( mechanical models of the solar system ) exhibited in an upstairs gallery. Standing 650mm (26") high, the sculpture is driven by a mains electric motor through a reduction gearbox to produce a calm, planetary motion.
