Striking Clock I
There must be movement in everything I make and a clock is the perfect example of kinetic progression.
Inspired by the tradition of creating sculptures from found objects ( usually driftwood ) this construction tells the time - and marks the hour - into the bargain.
The French number 5 gives a clue to function, since it marks the five o'clock position on the dial. Figure that out and the rest is easy. The red disc marks marks the hours while the blue pointer counts off the minutes. The yellow hammer drops to strike the bell at the top of the hour.
Powered by a robust quartz battery-powered movement, the 'Five o'clock' clock hangs on the wall and is 250mm (10") high.
It is now one of a series in different colours, such as:

Similar to above but in muted colours
